A New Chapter...

  • Eating: Pomegranate Blackberry Yogurt

has finally started for me.

As I'm writing this, I'll have to admit... I'm rather melancholic at the moment. I've been fine all Azusa Pacific University 2009 Orientation weekend (parents/guests were welcome to come with incoming students) but now that my parents just left about an hour ago... I feel just a rush of emotions now. I'd probably would feel fine, but then my dad cried and whenever any male figure I look up to/care deeply for cries, I always cry too.

And now it's like... I'm not sure. I know I'll probably see my dad at least once a week since he'll start prospecting and whatnot up here and I'll still be going down there for church and training and whatnot, but I'll probably only see my mom once a week or once every other week. I'll still be communicating with them obviously, and I know (logically speaking) that they're still going to be my parents and they'll always be there and that I'll be going back in the winter, and then next summer, so on so forth. But it's like my emotions are just all screwed up and don't really know what to do. I'm more or less excited for everything, not too nervous about anything, but... I don't know. Maybe I'm just tired. Maybe I'll go mix some Monster with something :S

I'll be fine, I know I will, I'll settle in, but just right now... I'm a little melancholic, I guess.

Alright, so finally, about what's actually going on in my college experience.

First of all, I don't have a roommate (currently). I live in Engstrom Hall, in which all of the rooms are suite-style where every two rooms are joined by one bathroom, two people to a room.

So I have suitemates, and they're uber awesome B)

But no roommate. I had a roommate and we were talking earlier in the summer, but she canceled, but then didn't officially cancel with the school until a week and a half before Orientation weekend so I don't have a roommate. If no one new moves in by a week or two, I will be officially without a roommate. If that happens, I'll be alright. I mean, I'm an only child, I'm independent... And I have 2 suitemates and a whole Alpha Group (that's made of pure win, I LOVE dem peoples), so if I get lonely I have people. At any rate, if I'm officially without a roommate for the rest of the semester, we're going to turn the other bed into a couch and reorganize stuff so I can host stuff all the time (it helps that I have an electric tea kettle and stuff for coffee, tea (I have 10 different flavors lol), hot chocolate and hot apple cider)). I got a fridge from a friend and it's pretty awesome (I actually have Outback leftovers inside it right now (3 meals worth) ;] ).

I have my computer up and running, and the Clean Access Agent installed and working on both my desktop and laptop so I can access the internet. A battery for my laptop is being shipped... My dad made a ton of upgrades to my room, like corner shelves above the sink, a curtain for the closet so I can change in there, belt/sweatshirt hooks and towel racks in the closet and a mirror in there... So yeah, it's pretty awesome.

As for classes, they start on Tuesday. But I have... A couple business classes, an English class, a couple Bible/Christianity core classes and the New Beginnings class. So yeah. Pretty cool.

At the moment, I'm just kind of hanging out; waiting for dinner at six. I might do some drawing to kind of lighten my spirits a bit, but I'm pretty sure I'll be okay.

OH, oh yeah. My bed = made of win.

My color scheme was bright purple and blue over black (with some darker blue that goes with it), and my bed just looks... cool. So yeah. Furry pillows are win. And my bed is uber comfy o3o

Eh... that's all I can think of for the moment.

Now about that Monster mix...

♥ April

(The drink is 1/2 Monster (original citrus, used as a base), 3/8 Mountain Dew Code Red, and 1/8 Powerade Mountain Berry Blast (topper). It's actually... extremely good. Let's see what the kick does later, but uh... Really yummy. o3o Oh, and stirred, not shaken)

*sigh*

Geez I am SO jacked up on Monster Nitro Beast Super Dry and Anti-Gravity right now. It was a gigglefest earlier. Friggin awesome.

(If you don't know what the Nitro Beast is... basically, the water is both carbonated and nitrogenated, meaning it contains nitrous oxide, which makes for a mean kick and funny giggles afterwards)

At any rate... Not sure what all I should tell you all.

Summer's coming to a close. I leave to go to Azusa Pacific on the 4th (It's only 45 mins - 1 hour away, no worries).

Basically...

I'm 18, a high school graduate, just got my driver's license, a car, I don't have a job, I've completed two years of high school, received 3 Associates of Arts (Gen Ed Humanities; Communications, Media & Language; and Humanities and Social Studies), am a representative of the country's best financial servicing group (Primerica, no, this is NOT a job), received a professional license (I took and passed my California Life-Only Exam on Thursday, which means I am now licensed to sell life insurance) and I only have 5 semesters to complete at APU.

Not bad, I guess.

In other news... Just to share what's going on in my life...

I've just made my little group of nerdiliscious buddies (a.k.a. the Illuminaty) a really good group of friends to me over the summer... My boyfriend, Thomas, and I are really just... rocking in our relationship. Many of you who know me know I'm a very down-to-earth, realistic person who... doesn't really care much for frivolous relationships, but as we're going now... It's really looking like we could be the ones for each other. It's hard to explain, our relationship is more than just skin deep, sex or time based. He's come back to Christ through me, and he... he needs me and wants me to be there for him so that he never loses sight of God again. And we've just had an awesome relationship. Let's just say that we're setting up our relationship now as though we will be getting married. In case anyone is worried, we've already settled that the earliest we could get married would be when we're both done with school, financially and emotionally stable and mature enough for a decision that will last forever (neither of us really believe that divorce is an okay thing to do).

At any rate... It's been a wild summer. ;]

Love you all,

hope to talk to everyone soon,

<3 April

Alright, so this fun little journal game thinger is called "in my pants". Rules are simple: put your favorite MP3 player on random and write the first 30 songs down, followed by "in my pants". (just so you know, most soundtrack titles I skipped, for the lulz, very few of them made any sense or humor whatsoever)

READY?! GO!!

1. Yesterdays in my pants (uhmm...?)
2. The Blitz in my pants (oh noes)
3. Fire of love in my pants (gner... hahahaha)

13. Made to love in my pants (i r not hor)

- - -

Alright, so now that that's over (it was quite a trip, now wasn't it?) I just have some general info about how I'm doing, just to keep everyone posted.

I'm doing pretty good, actually. I'm all registered and ready to attend Azusa Pacific University this fall, I have a car, et cetera et cetera... I suppose the most noteworthy thing of my life would be that I officially have a boyfriend now (first ever)... Uhh... His name is Thomas, we're total nerds (the nerdiness is over 9000 when we're together) and it's been pretty cool... My parents both know and they're actually cool with it, and his parents know and they're actually happy about it. For the moment, for one specific reason, it's not that serious of a relationship. He might think it is, but I already told him I'm not treating it that seriously (and gave him the reason why). My parents are probably going to meet him 4th of July (we'll go have a picnic or something and watch fireworks). I've met his mom, but his parents want me to have dinner with them sometime, but it'll have to wait until next week after summer camp.

Speaking of which, July 5th-10th I won't be here. Like I said, summer camp. *jazz hands* This week is Summer Splash (VBS) at my church, I'm a guide for a 3-yr-old class (it's 3 yrs - 6th grade), and there are 1000 kids in total attending this year (biggest number yet). It's a blast, the kids are loving it and it's just been a great time.

That's... about it, really. Yeah. I'm doing pretty good. =]
